Independence Day celebrations in Mozambique (15 Aug 2024)

Independence Day was celebrated at the High Commission of India premises in Maputo with the hoisting of the Flag, followed by singing of the National Anthem and reading of Hon’ble President’s address to the Nation. Also, our children sang patriotic song and performed dances. An exhibition on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day was also held.

Shri Saurabh Kumar Mishra, one of the members of the Indian Coast Guard Afloat Support team presently deployed in Mozambique was awarded the Director General, Indian Coast Guard Commendation for devotion to duty.

Also, Indian community enthusiastically held flag hoisting functions in various parts of Mozambique – Pemba, Nacala, Nampula, Milange, Tete and Beira.
